The quote that stood out the most to me was about passion, “The classroom should be an exciting place. If we are all emotionally shut down, how can there be any excitement about ideas? When we bring our passions to the classroom, our collective passions come together and there is often an emotional response, one that can overwhelm” (Page 154)

The Main idea that I took from this was the importance to show passion and have excitement. No student will ever want to learn if they are not having fun. School should be fun, it is my job as a teacher to fuel the fire of learner in my students. When you see someone who is passionate about something you are intrigued, the same goes for teaching in a classroom. I have learned the most from a teacher when he or she is more excited about teaching the subject. The more opinions and emotions that our brought out into the conversations, the more real and applicable the topic can become.

The one consistent I have seen coming from a student to a Teaching Associate is the passion creates excitement and excitement creates the urge to learn. There is a counter part to that, you cannot be consistent all the time. Not every topic or subject will excite you. That is when you have to work the hardest and put in the most effort. Teach you students to find a way to connect with what you are learning and maybe they will find a new passion.

My Teaching Beliefs and Practices are very consistent when it comes to passion. I want ever student to feel safe enough to share all their thoughts with the whole class. When you collectively get all the passions to understand each other and accept each other the classroom is a safe place. It is my goal as a teacher for ever student to be able to express their passions and opinions with out worry as well as share my passion for learning with my students.

The quote above is very impacting for my future development because it will always remind me the importance of passion. Not only having it but helping my students find it in their selves. We all must remember that the classroom in a learner center for all subjects and topics.
